An intrepid four wheel drive group ventured south and east. Judy Garland had the help of a lion, a tin man and a scarecrow to find her rainbow, Rutherford Probus left it to Jim and his tractor with a bucket on the front. He had been chasing up and down the Rainbow Pass shovelling away the scree, sand and shingle, just in time for us.
The combined Molesworth and Rainbow Stations gave us a magic circle of New Zealand high country, a kaleidoscope of scenery and a tour of Kiwi history.
