The Battle of Batton Bridge

The scouting party had done its work well, Ron, Christine, Kathy and Pete had covered every inch of the approach and declared it eletrically feasible, on one single charge of the battery. Under a burning sun and a climb of Everest proportions , the approach to the bridge was achieved without casualty except for an exploding tyre. At the target, one of the group was declared missing but all others achieved the objective. After several minutes of triumphal celebration accelerators were floored and courses set for a regroup at the designated base. At this stage several of the platoon sadly failed to appear and were declared lost in action. Their sad loss was attributed to electrical failure or navigational error. Search has been abandonned.
